DAS Construction Services - Summary of Hazardous Materials Inspection and Abatement Services

Program Funding and Eligibility

Program funds are provided by general obligation bond funds and are available to Connecticut State Agencies for the removal or encapsulation of asbestos and hazardous materials in state-owned buildings.

Funding is available for the following activities consistent with State Contracts 19PSX0120 and 20PSX0154:

  • Environmental Consultant pre-abatement services including investigation, testing, and reporting of suspected hazmats, and the development of abatement plans and specifications.
  • Abatement Contracting for removal and disposal of hazardous building materials in state facilities, and associated Environmental Consulting for oversight, monitoring, and reporting.
    • The Program may provide up to $500,000 for abatement activities on agency projects with total project construction costs less than $1,000,000.
  • Emergency Response for eligible environmental consulting and/or abatement contracting.
